THE PROBLEM
Many existing wellness and fitness apps are overwhelming, confusing, and have a strong focus on numerical data. Women often feel lost or intimidated, which leads to difficulty building consistent, sustainable habits.
THE RESEARCH
In order to solve this problem, I had to go straight to the source. Through survey questions, I was able to collect answers from real women about their fitness journey and experience with fitness apps.
THE RESULTS
The research gave me insight into real problems women were facing, and allowed me to explore how I would solve these issues with specific features.
THE FLOW
Once I had a clear idea of the specific features I would include, I started mapping out the flow in the form of sketches.
THE VISUALS
After figuring out how the app will operate, I started working on the visual identity. I wanted it to reflect the brand’s core values, and be friendly, encouraging, and differ from most fitness app interfaces.
THE SOLUTION
Buddi starts with 8 onboarding questions that allow you to customize the app to your goals and preferences. Then, groups you into beginner, intermediate, or advanced mode.
For personalization, Buddi allows you to change, edit, or create your own mode. Here, you can modify the interface to meet your specific needs and goals.
Buddi offers educational opportunities throughout the interface. This includes explanations on cycle phases, specific terminology, and video demonstrations for exercises.
